A Very Fine French Late 19th Century Louis XVI Style White Marble and Ormolu 'Lyre' Clock Garniture Set. The lyre-shaped white marble clock is mounted with finely chased ormolu throughout, featuring a circular white dial with Arabic numerals decorated with floral wreaths, set within a sparkling bejewelled border attached to the pendulum. The case is richly adorned with floral wreaths, swags and draped garlands, and surmounted by a large gilt sunburst centered with an allegorical female Bacchante mask. The open lyre reveals the (pendulum) strings above the dial. The clock is raised on a shaped oval white marble plinth with elaborate ormolu foliate, beaded and wreath mounts, standing on toupie feet. The matching pair of four-light candelabra each have an urn-shaped white marble body mounted with finely chased ormolu, decorated with satyr masks flanked by floral wreaths and hanging swags. Rising from the urn is an elaborate foliate branch structure terminating in four rose-bud shaped candle holders, each with a bejewelled rim. The candelabra are raised on circular white marble socles with ormolu borders, resting on toupie feet. The inside of the clock rim stamped "L.F. 6913" - Refers to Lerolle Frères (active c. 1836–1880s) the renowned Parisian bronze foundry and maker of luxury decorative arts, particularly known for high-quality gilded bronze clocks, candelabra, and garnitures. Founded by sons of Louis Lerolle, Édouard-François and Camille, they exhibited at major exhibitions, including the 1867 World's Fair. Circa: Paris, 1880-1890.
